For the second straight year, Trigg County will have a representative at the Kentucky/Tennessee All-Star Football Game.

However, for the first time, two Wildcats have been named to the team that will play the Tennessee all stars June 16 in Chattanooga.

Jeffrey Adams and Taylor McGee are on the roster that includes some of the top seniors from around the state.

A committee of football coaches from around the state chose the two players.

Paducah Tilghman head coach Perry Thomas is the head coach of this year’s all-star team, while Bardstown’s Joey Downs will be his assistant and head coach of the 2007 team.

Adams is a first-team all-state offensive lineman who has committed to the University of Louisville, while McGee is a first-team all-state defensive lineman who has committed to Kentucky Wesleyan.

Other players on the team include Levar Weston of Hopkinsville, Micah Johnson, Orlando Missafuela, and Leonard Gordon from Fort Campbell, and Mayfield’s Josh Hatchell.

Last year, former TCHS and current University of Kentucky lineman Kenny Turner was part of the Kentucky all-stars that defeated Tennessee 41-27 in Louisville.

McGee and Adams are the third and fourth TCHS football players to be named to the all-star team, joining Turner last year and Robert Stinson in 1990.

This year’s game will be played at the University of Chattanooga because of renovation work that’s being done to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
