Funeral services for Torby McAllister, Jr., of Cadiz, were conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2006, at 10 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Revs. O.D. Boyd and Lester Watson officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.

Mr. McAllister died on Wednesday, April 12, at 6:45 a.m., at his residence following a battle with cancer.

Mr. McAllister was born on July 21, 1934, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Torby Norman, Sr., and Pearl White Fowler McAllister.

Mr. McAllister was a retired Truck Driver; and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Wesley McAllister.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Laird McAllister of Cadiz; daughter, Mary Tripp of Waxhaw, NC; a grandchild, Brittany Morgan Tripp of Waxhaw, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Margaret McAllister of Cadiz; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and James Rogers, Mary and Bill Bogard, and Madie and Tommy Calhoun, all of Cadiz, and Irma Morris of Brentwood, Tenn.

Serving as pallbearers were Junior Noel, Jackie Boshell, Tony Boshell, M.H. Fowler, James Ramey, and Larry Beason.

Teresa Simpson, vocalist and pianist, provided the music.
