Rev. Terry Davis officiated at the services. Burial followed in Hawkins Cemetery in Christian County.
Mr. Williams died on Sunday, April 23, 2006, at 1 p.m., in Caldwell County Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Williams was born on January 22, 1929, in Dyersburg, Tenn. He was the son of the late Paschall and Mary Craig Williams.
Mr. Williams was a retired from ITT Grinell Maintenance; was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Korea; and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davis Williams; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Vicki Williams of Murray, and Mike and Sherrie McCarty of Eddyville; four grandchildren, Chris McCarty, Jake McCarty, Morgan Williams, and Summer Williams; a great-grandchild, Ethan McCarty; two brothers, Billy Joe “B.J.” Williams of Caldwell County, and Ray Williams of Princeton; four sisters, Minnie McKnight of Hopkins County, Sara Gutherie of Amity, Ark., Doris Latham of Hopkinsville, and Mary Kay Storms of Caldwell County; and several nieces and nephews.
