County Judge Executive Berlin Moore said that he believed it might be advantageous to keep the sheriff’s office and the 911 operation together, but asked Sheriff Randy Clark for his view.
“We have a daily bond with 911,” Clark said. “We keep our warrant files in the dispatch. That way, we can call in and see if there is a warrant on a suspect. The (National Crime Information Center) computers are in the dispatch as well, and we run inquiries on cases we are working on. It is not absolute that we be in the same building, but there would be a lot of advantages.”
