The grant provided a so-called “Jaws of Life” unit to the Trigg County Rescue Squad. A life-saving unit, the Jaws of Life feature a number of attachments, including cutters, spreaders, hydraulic rams and other tools needed to remove and cut through debris and obstacles to save lives.
Trigg County Emergency currently has one such unit, but requested a second as a spare.
“The grant was written so that the primary user of the equipment would be the Trigg County Rescue Squad, but any first-response unit in the area has access to it,” said Trigg Rescue leader Randy Wade.
