Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
Mr. Beorn died on Sunday, June 11, 2006, at 4:25 a.m., at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes.
Mr. Beorn was born on January 17, 1918, in Stow, Ohio. He was the son of the late Jacob Alexander and Effie Lowers Beorn.
Mr. Beorn was retired after 33 years as a mail carrier; was janitor for 13 years at Cadiz Baptist Church; was part owner of the Tally-Ho Shop in Cadiz for 23 years; was a member of the Cadiz Baptist Church; member of Civitan Club; and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, Jamaica and the West Indies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Beorn and Ralph Beorn; and three sisters, Mary Ellzey, Freda Beorn, and Dorothy Beorn.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dot Beorn of Cadiz; three sons and daughter-in-law, , George Randy and Louise Beorn of Akron, Ohio, and Rusty Cheyenne Beorn and Edmund Drew, both of Cadiz; daughter, Dixie and Sam Greco of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Gilbert Beorn of Phoenix, Ariz.; a niece, Delores and Joe Elledge of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Kelly and Chris Greco of Phoenix, Ariz., Randy Michael and Jacob Beorn of Akron, Ohio, Tina Marie Powell of Virginia Beach, Vir., and Jessica Drew of Mereno Valley, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren, Alex Haynes and Emily Greco of Phoenix, Ariz., Hannah Beorn of Akron, Ohio, and Jamie Cheyanne Powell and Ashley Jordan Powell of Virginia Beach, Vir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ed Drew, Bill Lisch, Philip Miracle, Seldon Earl Thomas, Jerry Ray Tyler, and Jimmy Futrell.
Gary Thompson, organist, and Mike Rose, soloist provided the music.
King’s Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
