The City County Planning Commission met Thursday, June 22 for a short regular meeting. New commissioners were discussed and empanelled as well as discussion of a debt owed by the Eagle Ridge Subdivision and planning for commission rules and regulations to be placed on the Internet.

With the commission short of a quorum at the onset of the meeting, Commissioner Sharon Butts administered the oath of office to Intermediate School Principal Bryan Futrell. The oath made Futrell attest to the fact that he had never settled a dispute with an armed conflict, nor acted as a second in a duel of honor.

Chairman Paul Fourshee said that the induction of Futrell and appointment of David Freemen brings the commission closer to its allotted size of 10 members.

A $782 debt was owed to the commission by the Eagle Ridge Subdivision, and discussion was made on how to collect the money. Butts said she sent notices to the developer requesting the debt be repaid. The commission moved to ask County Attorney H.B. Quinn to assist in collection of the debt.
