Rev. Gary Childress officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Martin Oliver Cemetery in Trigg County.
Mrs. Candler died on Monday, June 26, 2006, at 12:26 p.m., at the Covington’s Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville following a long illness.
Mrs. Candler was born on February 11, 1912, in Lyon County. She was the daughter of the late Sanford Dudley and Susan Adelia Litchfield Gray.
Mrs. Candler was a homemaker; and a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert French Candler in January 2003; a daughter, Doris Folden Henderson in 1998; a grandson, Richard V. Folden in 1987; eight siblings; and one half-brother.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Katie Mae Candler, and Dallas and Cheryl Candler, all of Hopkinsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Myrtle and Woodson Harper of Trigg County, and Robbie and Willard Morrow of Hopkinsville; twelve grandchildren, Joan Harper Baldree, Dale W. Harper, Jennifer Harper Thomas, Bobby D. Morrow, Carla Morrow Thames, Suzette Candler Sadler, Timothy C. Candler, Anthony K. Candler, Pamela Folden, Kathy Folden Steele, D. O’Neal Candler, and Tamara Candler Martin; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were O’Neal Candler, Timothy Candler, Anthony Candler, Bobby Morrow, Joshua Sadler, Greg Martin, and Thomas Harper.
