Dr. Alan Briones worked his last shift at the Trigg County Hospital Primary Care Clinic on June 30. Briones is leaving his five-year practice behind in a move to New York City, where he will work at Mt. Sinai Hospital or Medical Center in a position he called a “Hospitalist.”

Briones described his new position as being akin to an attending physician. “There is no specific specialty, not like radiology or cardiology. It is more like internal medicine, which is my specialty or general or family practice. A hospitalist might be the first physician seen to determine a patient’s needs.”

Trigg County Hospital CEO Lisa Coleman joined Hospital Board of Directors President Dr. Michael Gross and other staff members, friends, patients and other guests in wishing Briones farewell.
