The 2006 Relay For Life officially drew to a close with an ice-cream social on June 10 at the Lakeland Jamboree. The Team Captains’ Wrap-Up Meeting announced final totals for a number of teams, along with recognition for outstanding individuals and teams.

After an opening and introductions lead by Octavia Vinson of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Susan Hurt, the Trigg County Staff Partner of the National American Cancer Society began to present lawn signs, in recognition of fundraising efforts.

New Light Baptist Church was lauded for $2,880, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for $3,394.55. The Kirby Family raised $7,015, while the Ford Family raised $9,500. Roaring Springs Christian Church brought in $10,500. Cadiz Baptist Church raised $11,014.76, and next was the Bank of Cadiz with $11,051.
