Rev. Don Troutman officiated at the services. Burial followed in Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke.
Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Cox died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Cox was born on July 27, 1920, in Christian County. He was the son of the late William Edgar and Grace Gilliam Cox.
Mr. Cox was a farmer and was retired from Civil Service at Fort Campbell; was a member and Elder of Lester Memorial Presbyterian Church, and was a WWII Army veteran, having served as a sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Robertson Cox; two sons, William Henry “Bill” Cox, Jr., of Divenon, Ill, and David L. Cox of Sacramento; four daughters, Wren Meadimber of Indianapolis, Ind., Terry Robinson of St. Elmo, Pam Bryant of Cadiz, and Bonny Shibley of High Point, N.C.; two brothers, Edward Cox of Hopkinsville and Frank Cox of Trenton; three sisters, Martha Hamm of Denver, Colo., Pauline Guier of Ridgefield, Wash., and Earline Junker of Clarksville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lester Memorial Presbyterian Church.
