Revs. Don Rogers and John Hagen officiated at the services. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.
Mrs. Outland died on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at 11:25 p.m., at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Hopkinsville, of natural causes.
Mrs. Outland was born on August 29, 1919, in Stewart County, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Elmer and Athel Floyd Wiggins Sills.
Mrs. Outland was retired from S.H. Kress and worked for Wallpaper Galore; was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church; and was the former pianist for South Union Baptist Church for 10 years; and was a member of Fellowship Choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Boyd Outland; and a sister, Frances Lacy.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, June and Bobby Shemwell of Trigg County; and Carol and Rusty Colon, Sr., and Joyce and Ben Armstrong, all of Hopkinsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Marvin Buchanan of Herndon; four grandchildren, Barry Shemwell, Rusty Colon, Jr., Anita Armstrong, and Amanda Armstrong; and six great-grandchildren, Drew Shemwell, Amanda Shemwell, Micah Taylor, Chase Taylor, Jenna Colon, and Rhett Colon.
Serving as pallbearers were Josh Bailey, Todd Bailey, Barry Shemwell, Chase Taylor, Rusty Colon, Jr., and Brad Outland.
Rev. John Hagan and Josh Bailey, vocalists; Locust Grove Baptist Church Choir; and Vicki Bridges and Peggy Hargis, pianists, provided the music.
