A juvenile suspect was detained on July 21 after a traffic stop by Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenneth Butts. Butts said that he stopped the suspect based on information that the suspect was operating a motor vehicle without a valid operating license.

The arrest happened around 11:00 A.M. in front of Scot’s Market on the corner of Lakota and Main.

Major Duncan Wiggins of the Cadiz Police Department said that Butts observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight during the stop.

The Cadiz Police Department and a member of the Pennyrile Area Drug Task Force collaborated with the Sheriff’s Department during the arrest.
