Funeral services for Willie Douglas Aldridge, 94, of Hopkinsville, were conducted on Sunday, July 30, 2006, at 2 p.m., at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz.

Bro. Doyle Thresher officiated at the services. Burial followed in Stewart Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Aldridge died on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at 8:11 p.m., at Covington’s Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.

Mr. Aldridge was born on April 20, 1912, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Gordon and Rosie Thomas Aldridge.

Mr. Aldridge was a self-employed carpenter, and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Duiguid Aldridge; and five brothers, Lacy Aldridge, Robert Aldridge, Hopson Aldridge, Chappell Aldridge, and Hugh Aldridge.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Aldridge of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sisters and brother-in-law, Della Hite of Hopkinsville, Effie Adams and Mae and Mark Ladd, all of Cadiz; 10 nephews; and seven nieces.

Serving as pallbearers were Malcom Ladd, Danny Roberts, Stan Humphries, Jerry Mitchell, Willis Burnam, and Thomas Broadbent.

Clarissa King, pianist, provided the music.
