Funeral services for Edna May Childress, 84, of Cadiz, were conducted on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Wesley Curtis and Dr. Hilda Bentley officiated at the services. Burial followed in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Trigg County.

Ms. Childress died on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 12:50 a.m., in Shady Lawn Nursing Center of natural causes.

Ms. Childress was born on May 27, 1922, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Cecil Clifton and Betty Lee Cameron Childress.

Ms. Childress was a homemaker, and a member of Cadiz United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Bridges, Flora Pool, and Dorothy Hester Childress.

Survivors include two brothers, William Robert Childress of Cadiz, and Clarence Woodrow Childress of Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Stan Bridges, Scott Bridges, Sidney Curtis, and Rev. Wesley Curtis.

Krista Curtis and Rev. Wesley Curtis, vocalists, provided the music.
