Funeral services for Amy Michele Wheeler, 24, of Gainesville, Ga., formerly of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, August 25, 2006, at 10 a.m., at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Cadiz.

Father Babu Joseph officiated at the services. Burial followed in St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery in Aurora.

Ms. Wheeler died on Monday, August 21, 2006, at 2 p.m., at the scene of an automobile accident in Lula, Ga.

Ms. Wheeler was born on February 9, 1982, in Owensboro. She was the daughter of Lyndell and Cecelia Simmons Wheeler of Cadiz.

Ms. Wheeler was a Social Worker at Georgia Mountains Community Services in Gainesville; was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church; was a Trigg County High School Honor Graduate in 2000; graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky with a Psychology degree; and was Vice President of Sigma Kappa Sorority.

Her paternal grandparents, Robert and Marjorie Wheeler, preceded her in death.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a sister, Stacy Wheeler of Hopkinsville; maternal grandparents, Joseph Herman and Mary Helen Simmons of Owensboro; a special friend, Carlos Lopez of Gainesville, Ga., and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Angela Thome, organist, and the St. Stephen Catholic Church Choir provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Carlos Lopez, Military, four Military Personnel, John Wheeler, and Scott Wheeler.

King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz was in charge of all the arrangements.
