Rev. Jon Weece officiated at the services. Burial followed in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, was in charge of all the arrangements.
Mr. Dawson died on Sunday, August 27, 2006 in an airplane crash.
Mr. Dawson was born on June 25, 1960, in Christian County. He was the son of Charles “Fox” Dawson of Roaring Springs, and Grace Lane Lawrence Hancock of Cadiz.
Mr. Dawson attended Southland Christian Church, and was a volunteer in the Kentucky SIDS Network. He was a 1978 graduate of Trigg County High School, and received his MBA from the University of Kentucky.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Marsha Lynn Bentley Dawson; a daughter, Madeline “Maddie” Dawson; a son, Charles Fenton III “Chase” Dawson; stepmother, Sandy Dawson; stepfather, Dalton Hancock; a sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Deano Oliver of Roaring Springs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Layton and Molly Dawson of Roaring Springs, and Mont and Kecia Dawson of Louisville; maternal grandparents, Gaylon and Myra Hargrove of Cadiz; two step-brothers and sister-in-law, Scott and Sandra Hancock, and Boyd Hancock, all of Hopkinsville; mother-in-law, Janice Bentley of Lexington; father-in-law, Lewie L. Bentley,Sr., of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pam and Billy Adams of Maysville, Cindy Bentley Watkins of Lexington, and Kari and Harlan Betlesky of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Brandon B. Bentley of Memphis; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Almont and Agnes Dawson; maternal grandfather, Clyde Layton Lawrence; a brother-in-law, Lewie “Lee” Bentley; and a niece, Lauren Lee Watkins.
