Rev. James H. Brasher officiated at the services. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hopson died on Monday, September 18, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at Trigg County Hospital following a short illness.
Mrs. Hopson was born on March 2, 1920, in Caldwell County. She was the daughter of the late Luther T. and Beulah Dunning McGowan.
Mrs. Hopson was a homemaker; a retired Beautician; and a member of Shepherd Street Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sumner Hopson in 1997; two brothers, Caleb McGowan and William “Peter” McGowan; and a sister, Fannie Webb.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Hopson of Princeton and Craig Hopson of Cadiz; a daughter and son-in-law, Greta and Richard Wadlington of Cerulean; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a brother, Pleaz McGowan of Hopkinsville; a sister-in-law, Irene McGowan of Gracey; and a devoted friend and caretaker, Jackie Cain.
Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of all the arrangements.
