Funeral services for Carl Wade Mitchell, 54, of Caldwell County, were conducted on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 1 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. Roger Felker officiated at the services. Burial followed in Blue Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell died on Monday, September 18, 2006, at 4:30 p.m., at his home following a long illness.

Mr. Mitchell was born on September 21, 1951, in Caldwell County. He was the son of Beulah Louise Bland Mitchell and the late Elliott F. Mitchell, Sr.

Mr. Mitchell was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a member of 2nd Squadron, 17th Calvary, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam; was a V.P. of Sales for Austin Powder Co.; and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Caldwell County.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Mitchell.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother, Elliott F. “Frankie” Mitchell, Jr., of Henderson; four nephews; two great-nephews; and two great-nieces.

Serving as pallbearers were Allen McKnight, Tommy Ray Calhoun, Billy Butler, Phillip Bruce, Nathan Gray, and Frankie Galloway.
