The forum will take place in the Little Theater of Trigg County High School and the general public is invited to attend at no charge.
Letters to the candidates were mailed this week.
Due to the large number of candidates of the Trigg ballot, the forum will be held on two nights. The first is scheduled for Thursday, October 26 while the second is planned for Tuesday, October 31.
Questions to be asked of the candidates will be solicited from members of the general public and the civics classes at Trigg County High School. A form will be printed in the ensuing issued of The Cadiz Record asking for citizens to submit their questions. Questions will not be directed to any particular candidate, but will be directed to the positions the candidates are seeking.
Bank of Cadiz President Don Leibee has agreed to act as Master of Ceremonies and will participate in a series of meetings to help determine the final questions. He will also be responsible for timing each candidate’s response and to assure a set of rules will be followed.
Trigg County candidates who are for election will be also invited to participate with a brief talk on their current position. Unopposed candidates will not be allowed to endorse any other candidate or political party during their allotted time.
Chairmen of the Democratic and Republican Parties in Trigg County will be invited to give an opening speech on the opening night touting the benefits of their party. Each chairman will have to appear if they wish to speak as no substitutions will be allowed
On the second night of the forum, the chairmen of the Republican and Democratic Women will also be given an opportunity to speak. Again, no substitutions will be allowed.
