Memorial services for Mildred Davis, 83, of Hopkinsville, were conducted on Monday, October 2, 2006, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville.

Mrs. Davis died on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Covington’s Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville following a long illness.

Mrs. Davis was born on May 16, 1923, in Blairsville, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Grover and Elsie Followell.

Mrs. Davis was a homemaker, and a member of the Fruit Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, CM/Sgt. USAF (Ret.) Lenard E. Davis; and a sister, Lucille Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Michael and Robert Davis of Cadiz, and Stephanie and Allen Armstrong of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Alene Brandon of Marion, Ill., and Wilma and Bob Parker of Herrin, Ill.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lourine and Ray Williams of West Frankfort, Ill.; two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Rob and Sandra Davis of Jinja, Uganda, and Nolan Davis of Cadiz; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Seth and Kiira Davis of Jinja, Uganda.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fruit Hill Baptist Church.

Lamb’s Funeral Home in Hopkinsville was in charge of all the arrangements.
