Funeral services for Greg “Peck” Powell, 48, of Princeton, were conducted on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. Reed Shepherd officiated at the services. Burial followed in Piney Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Powell died on Monday, October 2, 2006, at 5:40 a.m., at his home following a long illness.

Mr. Powell was born on October 21, 1957, in Newport News, Va. He was the son of Eleanor Crenshaw Rice of Princeton, and the late George Powell.

Mr. Powell was a roofer; was of the Baptist Faith; and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Genell Pavey.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Jane Arlene Vaughn Powell of Princeton; step-daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Henry Saldivar of Manhatten, Ill.; step son, Waide Stewart of Manhatten, Ill.; six step-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Ginger Franklin of Princeton, and Lisa and Pat Malone of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
