Project Development Board

The Trigg County Project Development Board is scheduled to meet today at 4:30 p.m. in the Trigg County Courthouse Annex. The meeting will discuss plans for the proposed Justice Center and is open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend.

TOPS Meet

Trip to See The Lion King

The Trigg County Board of Education meets at 7 P.M. at the School Administration Office.

Miss Trigg County Pageant

The annual Miss Trigg County Pageant will be held on Thursday, October 12, at 7 p.m., at the Trigg County High School Gym.

The James Thomas Chapter DAR meets on the Second Saturday of each month, except July, August, December, and January. Meeting places and speakers will be announced.

Annual Arts show

Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park will be holding its annual Arts & Crafts Show Oct. 14-15. The show will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central Time) on both days. A juried arts and crafts show, along with food, craft demonstrations, door prizes and music showcases will be featured.

Class of 1986 Reunion

Morning Worship

Bro. Dewey Dick will be the Sunday Morning Worship speaker on Sunday, October 15, in front of the courthouse. He has been pastor of several churches, including New Hope Baptist Church, a Director of Missions in Germany, and he and Becky Freeman will sing together as well as each doing solos. Singing will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Helping Hands

On Tuesday, from 12:30-4 p.m., a representative from Helping Hands will be in the Courthouse basement to help qualified residents get deeply discounted medication.

Band Boosters Meeting

The Trigg County Band Boosters will meet on Tuesday, October 17, at 6 p.m., in the Band Room. All parents of Marching Band students and high school Concert Band students are asked to attend.

Fiscal Court

The Trigg County Fiscal Court meets at 7 P.M. at the Courthouse Annex basement for a regularly scheduled meeting.

Hospital Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of Trigg County Hospital, Inc., will be held on Tuesday, October 17, at 7 p.m., during the Trigg County Fiscal Court Meeting at the Trigg County Courthouse Annex. All residents of Trigg County and other interested individuals are invited to attend.

On Wednesday, October 18, the Trigg/Lyon County Newcomers are planning a bus trip to Bowling Green. They will meet at 7:30 a.m. at the Cadiz Baptist Church and return by 8 p.m. Shopping at the Greenwood Mall or caving at Lost River Cave are planned activities.

The first of two political forums is scheduled tonight at the Trigg County High School Little Theater. Co-sponsored by The Cadiz Record and social studies classes at the high school, the forum is scheduled to begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

Ophthalmology Screenings

Ophthalmology Associates will be at the Senior Citizens Center to do eye screenings from 9 to 11 a.m.

Bible Baptist

The Bible Baptist Church in Cadiz will be having Special Services October 19th-21st, 2006. On October 19th & 20th, services begin at 7:00 P.M. nightly. On October 21st, services will begin at 9:30 A.M. The speakers will be Bro. Lee Hammel, Bro. Jerry Asberry, & Bro. Roger Jones. A meal will be served following the service on the 21st. J.D. Stencils, Trigg County Quilters Guild, and Trigg County Schools have partnered to bring Clarice Boswell, Ed.D., author and renowned slave quilt expert to Cadiz. Dr. Boswell will present, “Pre-Civil War Quilts: Their Hidden Codes to the Freedom of Slaves Through the Underground Railroad,” on Monday, October 23, at 6:30 p.m., at the Trigg County Schools Little Theatre. Free and is open to the public.

International Choir Sing

World Help’s “Children of the World” will perform songs of praise and worship in TCHS Little Theater on Wednesday, October 25, at 7 p.m. The choir consists of children, ages 8 to 12, dressed in their homeland attire from several countries across the globe. The Lions Club “Candy Day” Fundraiser will be held on Friday, October 27. Lions will be visible at the grocery stores, banks, and gas stations. All proceeds will go to buy glasses for children and the elderly. The Lions Club also accepts old pairs of glasses. There are drop boxes located at the post office, Hancock’s Neighborhood Market, and Food Giant.
