Halloween activities just keep piling up in Trigg County. The middle school’s Parent Teacher Organization will be hosting its annual Fall Festival tomorrow from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Speech therapist Kerry Sweno has been organizing the activities, which should be fun for everyone. The sixth grade has organized a golf game and cupcake walk while the seventh grade will be hosting a photo booth, fortune-telling booth and will be serving drinks. The eighth grade is in charge of a turkey toss and ring toss.

The Kentucky National Guard will have a giant inflatable obstacle course. Sweno said that the PTO has arranged for Sumo wrestling, in which kids will be able to strap on Velcro costumes to take part in the ancient Japanese sport. The Cadiz Baptist Church will be sponsoring a basketball throw and Liberty Point Church will be having a football toss. Wallonia Baptist Church will be having pumpkin painting and other activities. There will be about 15 games total.

The PTO will also be sponsoring a haunted house in one of the science classrooms. It will feature an operating room, a graveyard and plenty of costumed people along the way. Sweno said they would be doing it a bit differently this year.

“Last year they scared some kids, so we’re toning down a little this time,” she said.

Sweno said that the volunteers in costume tried to be as scary as they could last year and couldn’t tell when there were small children in the groups because of how dark it was. Some of them felt really awful about being too intense for the young ones.

“This year the guide will probably say something loud like, ‘And now we have some small children coming through,’” Sweno said.

People attending will have to buy tickets to take part in the activities. Most games will be two tickets and the haunted house will be three. Prices range from 75 cents a ticket to 20 tickets for $10, she said.
