Funeral services for William E. Flood, 71, of Cadiz, were conducted on Tuesday, November 7, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Elijah Balentine officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.

Mr. Flood died on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 11:43 a.m., at his home of natural causes.

Mr. Flood was born on June 2, 1935, in Golden Pond, Ky. He was the son of Olive Futrell Flood of Murray, and the late Marvin Flood.

Mr. Flood was a retired truck driver with James T. English Trucking Co., in Benton; was a U.S. Army Veteran; and was of the Church of Christ Faith.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Holley; and a brother, Johnnie Flood.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, is his wife of 25 years, Mary Flood of Cadiz; two sons and daughter-in-law, Chris Holley of Pensacola, Fla., and Walter and Christy Holley of Cadiz; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Hugh Dunn and Rita and Alan Carr, all of Cadiz; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Jan Flood, and Eugene and Mozel Flood, all of Murray; a sister, Darlene Davis of Murray; sister-in-law, Sandy Flood of Murray; five grandchildren, Christopher Dunn, Joshua Holley, Constance Dunn, Alana Carr, and Margaret Holley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Suzanne Henry and Clay King, vocalists, and Gary Thompson, organist provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Chris Holley, Walter Holley, Hugh Dunn, Alan Carr, Christopher Dunn, and Joshua Holley.

Honorary pallbearer was Haydon Jones.
