Funeral services for J. Lee McIntosh, 81, of Greenville, were conducted on Saturday, December 9, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.

Bro. Richard Day officiated at the services. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery in Greenville.

Mr. McIntosh died on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at 11:39 p.m., in the Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, following a long illness.

Mr. McIntosh was born in Muhlenberg County. He was the son of the late Atlas Ray and Minnie Myrtle Duvall McIntosh.

Mr. McIntosh was a retired carpenter and farmer, and was a member of Olive Grove General Baptist Church in Greenville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray McIntosh, Earl McIntosh, Coy McIntosh, and Arvil McIntosh; and seven sisters, Sadie Boggess, Callie Boggess, Ruthell Eaves, Flossie Bryant, Amonell Bryant, Delma Settle, and Rosie Crick.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Karlene Brooks McIntosh of Greenville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Earl Mayes of Greenville, and Matilda and Roy Marquess, Jr., of Cadiz; six grandchildren and their spouses, Greg and Teressa Mayes of Greenville, Tammy Mayes Hall of Ashland, Joey and Bobbi Mayes of Glasgow, Brian Marquess of Cadiz, Rachel and Jason Marquess England of Mayfield, and Kevin Marquess of Cadiz; seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Mayes, Terahyn Mayes, Drew Hall, Clark Hall, Laurel Mayes, Ty England, and Lexie England; and a sister, Ethel Vineyard Brooks of Greenville.
