The Renaissance on Main Design Committee presented their annual Pride Award to Francis and Fentress Law Offices last week. Renaissance Director Cindy Sholar said they presented the award to the law firm because they removed a large metal slipcover from the top of the building earlier this year. Board member Teresa Bailey said the eyesore had been there for at least 25 years and that its removal has greatly improved the look of the downtown area. Dennis Fentress said that windstorms had caused a chunk of the metal to break off, so they hired Fowler Construction to remove the slip entirely. He said they removed it piece by piece, cleaned the bricks and restored the windows. Pictured here with the Renaissance members are employees of the law firm.
