Funeral services for Alma Odessa Adams, 103, of Mortons Gap, were conducted on Sunday, January 28, 2007, in the Chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Elder Kenneth Blevins officiated at the services. Burial followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Mrs. Adams died on Friday, January 26, 2007, at 1:20 a.m., in Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

Mrs. Adams was born on July 15, 1903, in Hopkins County. She was the daughter of the late Solomon Thomas and Elizabeth Buchanan Clayton.

Mrs. Adams was a homemaker, and was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Homer Luther Adams, on April 10, 1984; a son, James O. Adams; sixteen sisters and brothers; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include two sons, Edmond Adams of Madisonville and Dell Adams of Lexington; four grandchildren, including Dennis Adams of Cadiz; over a dozen great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Relay For Life Team.
