When going to the Tourist Centers I can find only pamphlets on very general items mostly those put out by the state tourism office nothing specific on why I should bother to stop in Trigg County. When I go to other cities or states I find brochures and signs promoting local attractions. These signs and brochures are sponsored by the local tourist commission, why can’t our tourist commission do the same?
When some of my groups have events we do the advertising and promotion of the event. The tourist commission does nothing to help us. Tourist commissions in other locals help promote similar activities in their areas, why not here?
I have spoken to Mr. Copeland after he wrote his letter and he informed me that he had invited Mr. Simpson or any of his staff to a meeting of the “Lake Land Artesian Guild” to discuss tourism and crafts in Trigg County.
Mr. Simpson informed Mr. Copeland that he would be unable to attend the meetings but could meet him during business hours, when most of the members would be unavailable to attend.
Is Mr. Simpson afraid to meet with a group of citizens who are interested in promoting Trigg County or is he just not interested?
Mr. Simpson, if you can’t take the heat then get out of office and let someone in who will do the job.
President of the Lake Land Artisans Guild
