Rev. Dean Ray, assisted by Rev. Ronnie Fox, officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Lamasco Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Banister died on Thursday, February 8, 2007, at 6 a.m., at her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Banister was born on September 5, 1923, in Lyon County. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Maggie Thompson Oliver.
Mrs. Banister was a retired Inspector for Arvin Industries, and was a member of Lamasco Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bruce Banister in 1994; a son, Marian Banister; two daughters, Rosella Banister and Nancy Colley; a brother, R.B. Oliver; and a sister, Maggie Earl Gray.
Survivors include a son, Harlan N. Banister of Kuttawa; two daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and Ted Garland of Hopkinsville, and Gloria Marcella Damron of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Ricky Baker, Robin Galusha, Scott Colley, Chezley Neth, Kim Cox, Michelle Nigel, Schanda Doughty, and Quincey Garland; three brothers, Herbert Oliver of Princeton, Bobby Oliver of Henderson, and Doug Oliver of Newton, Ill.; two sisters, Marie Oliver and Christine Castle, both of Hopkinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
