Funeral services for Raymond T. Mason, 57, of Cadiz, were conducted on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at 10 a.m., at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz.

Rev. Terry Mitcheson officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville with Military Rites.

Mr. Mason died on Friday, February 9, 2007, at 5:15 p.m., at the VA Medical Center in Nashville following a short illness.

Mr. Mason was born on February 11, 1949, in Christian County. He was the son of the late Carl, Sr. and Francis Joiner Mason.

Mr. Mason was a farmer and Truck Driver for PTL & North American; was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era; and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Mason; and a sister, Mary Alice Joiner.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years (1982-2005), Susan Mason of Cadiz; a son, Christopher Ray Mason of Hopkinsville; three daughters, Rachel Hamby, Rebekah Summers, and Charity DeSpain, all of Cadiz; three brothers, Homer Mason and Frank Mason, both of Hopkinsville, and Carl “Rooster” Mason, Jr., of Cadiz; three sisters, Nadine Coleman of Nashville, and Margaret Mason and Mae Meredith, both of Cadiz; and nine grandchildren.

Clarissa King, pianist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Stan Summers, Patrick DeSpain, Brian Mason, Keith Mason, Allen Mason, Bradley Greer, and Matt Pasarchick.
