Funeral services for Selby Areadus Murray, 75, of Savannah, Tenn., formerly of Lyon County, were conducted on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. Military graveside services will be held and burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery.

Mr. Murray died on Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah.

Mr. Murray was born on May 16, 1931, in Lyon County. He was the son of the late Ollie Areadus and Etta Mae Taylor Murray.

Mr. Murray was retired from the Corp. of Engineers; was a U.S. Navy veteran; was a member of Woodson Chapel Church, Eastern Star, and Shriners; and was a Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William “Champ” Murray, Kelsey Coleman Murray, and Reese Murray; and a sister, Virginia Ferguson.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Freeman Murray of Savannah, Tenn.; seven nieces; and two nephews.
