Funeral services for Arthur Raymond Boyd, Sr., 72, of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, February 16, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Cadiz.

Rev. Frank Larkins officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Rocky Ridge Church Cemetery.

Mr. Boyd died on Monday, February 12, 2007, at 9:55 p.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Boyd was born on September 18, 1934, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late Willie Lee and Estella Bingham Boyd.

Mr. Boyd was a Tow Motor Driver; Johnson Controls; Farmer; part-time employee of American National Rubber Co.; a member of the Israelite Travelers Gospel Group; guitarist and singer; a member of Rocky ridge Baptist Church; was on the Deacon Board, Brotherhood, former president of the BTU; and was a former pianist of the Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jannie Louise Jessup Boyd; a son, Raymond Boyd, Jr., of Cerulean; five daughters, Louise Civils, Debbie Fortson, and Pennie Bacon, all of Cadiz, Raylene Copeland of Princeton, and Eve Boyd of Hopkinsville; four brothers, Douglas Boyd of Indianapolis, Ind., Rev. Robert Boyd, Iven Boyd, and Lacy Boyd, all of Cadiz; three sisters, Rosie Howard of Indianapolis, Ind., and Virginia Wharton and Dorothy Wilson, both of Cadiz; 18 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
