Goodwin Funeral Home, conducted funeral services for Mary Lou Broadbent Freeman, 93, of LaGrange, formerly of Trigg County, on Saturday, February 17, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church in Trigg County.

Kenny Rogers and the Rev. Steve Broadbent officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman died on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at 5:55 p.m., at the Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange of natural causes.

Mrs. Freeman was born on January 19, 1914, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late James J. and Rosie Jackson Broadbent.

Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker, and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, George Freeman of LaGrange; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Hans Petereit of LaGrange; two grandchildren and spouses, Drs. Carla and Bob Whipkey, and Kurt F. and Cece Turner; and six great-grandchildren, Rebecka Hendricks, Daniel Hendricks, Emma Turner, Trent Turner, Samantha Whipkey, and Trey Whipkey.

Becky Waldrup, vocalist, and Cindy Mize, pianist provided the music.
