Revs. Irvin Darnall and Eugene Powell officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
Mr. Bryant died on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 11:30 a.m., at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, of natural causes.
Mr. Bryant was born on October 4, 1912, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late James Andrew and Mintie Lee Downs Bryant.
Mr. Bryant was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator; Assistant Foreman for the Highway Department; Former Owner and Operator of Pete Light Springs Restaurant; former Trigg County Magistrate for District #2; Member of Berkley Masonic Lodge; and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hicks Bryant and Sam Bryant; and two sisters, Mildred Williams and Mary Noel.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Hazel Wallace Bryant, of Cadiz; a son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Millie Bryant of Cadiz; a daughter, Robbie Nell Edmonds of Aurora; two brothers, Loys Bryant and Bill Bryant, both of Cadiz; two sisters, Marie Sholar of Monument, Colo., and Martha Bridges of Cadiz; five grandchildren, Fredia Lawrence, David Bryant, John Bryant, Penny Nestlehutt, and Jill Reynolds; 15 great-grandchildren, Will Lawrence, Derrick Lawrence, Amanda Lawrence, Bailey Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Anna Bryant, Brady Bryant, Kara Bryant, Hannah Jordan, Will Aken, Jenny Aken, Toby Nestlehutt, Justin Reynolds, Kami Reynolds, and Jake Reynolds; and a great-great-grandchild, Landon Aken.
Johnnie Taylor, pianist, and Southern Traditions Quartet provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were David Bryant, John Bryant, Will Lawrence, Derrick Lawrence, Justin Reynolds, Jake Reynolds, Jimmy Bryant, and Jeff Bryant.
