Funeral services for Everett Cherry, 97, of Princeton, will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at 10 a.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. Cliff Jones will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Cherry died on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at 7:15 p.m., at Princeton Health & Rehab Center following a long illness.

Mr. Cherry was born on July 17, 1909, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Charles and Lena Perry Cherry.

Mr. Cherry was a retired Athletic Director at the Kentucky State Penitentiary, and was a member of the First Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Davis Cherry.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Gale Cherry of Princeton; a daughter, Dinah Cherry Marshall of Alexandria, Va.; a grandson, Davis Cherry of Washington, DC; a sister, Louise Cherry Purdy of Princeton; and a niece Suzanne Purdy Baker of Nashville, Tenn.
