A 27-year-veteran teacher at Trigg County High School has filled terrotrist threatening charges against her boss, principal Chad Pruitt. Donna Kranz filed the charges Monday morning with the Cadiz Police alleging that Pruitt had made threatening remarks toward her to at least three of her fellow teachers.

Pruitt has been relieved of his duties at the high school and has been reassigned to the school’s Central Office. He will continue to be paid his $82,318 annual salary.

In a release last Friday, Superintendent Tim McGinnis said he did not believe the remarks were “not an intent to harm and not a serious threat.

Kranz, however, said she took the threats very seriously. “I’m very concerned that Mr. McGinnis has taken these many repeated threatening statements as nothing serious.”

The teacher said she has had students who have been “immediately suspended and ultimately expelled for the year for less serious threatening statements and actions.”

In an exclusive interview with The Cadiz Record about the alleged statements and ultimate suspension of Pruitt, Kranz said she felt threatened enough to file the charges on Monday.
