Rev. Ray S. Ware, pastor, officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Jones died on Friday, May 11, 2007, in Indianapolis, Ind.
Mrs. Jones was born on November 14, 1922, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Laura Dillard Wilford.
Mrs. Jones graduated from Dunbar High School; was a member of Montgomery Elizabeth Baptist Church then moved to Eastside Baptist Church in Indianapolis where she remained a member for 42 years and served as the recording secretary of the church Board; she was a Licensed Cosmetologist for many years prior to becoming an employee of the federal government—she worked 33 years as an accounting clerk for the U.S. Army Finance & Accounting Center in Fort Benjamin Harrison, where she retired.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Jones, Sr., in 1977; two sons, Paul H. Jones, Jr., in 1999, and Charles Edward Jones in 2006.
Survivors include her grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Edward Jones-Banton, Paul H. III and Kathleen Jones, Jason Jones, Nicole Jones, Jennifer Jones and Kim Bluitt Jones; great-grandchildren, Kristen Jones and Blake Jones; sisters, Della Wilford, Darlene Wilkerson, Julia Coolidge Blaine and Betty Bingham; brothers, Walker and Agnes Wilford, Edmond Wilford, and Marion Wilford; daughters-in-law, Tommie Jones and Lillie Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
Serving as active pallbearers were Amos Brooks, Donald Gorman, Felix Wilford, Arnold Wilkerson, Henry Wilkerson, and Michael Wilkerson.
Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Bingham, John Hall, and Thadeus Bingham.
Flower Bearers were Mae Alice Anderson, Emma Blane, Marygrace Wilford Bridges, Laura Wilford Butler, Selenia Hollis, Connie Jennings, Lerlene Satterfield, and Barbara Wilford Soules.
