Although the people responsible for the recent vandalism of some of downtown Cadiz’ concrete Ham Festival Pigs have not been found, at least one good thing came out of it. The time-honored tradition of neighbors helping neighbors has continued.

While most of the damaged pigs faced only minor damages, such as chipped ears or noses, after being knocked over a few weeks ago, the Heritage Bank pig was completely decapitated. The pig is located outside the Helping Hands charity’s headquarters, and it saddened volunteer Doris Lester to see the pig’s head simply lying there. So after a while, she asked her husband, Lloyd, known to most as “Hank,” if he would consider putting head back on the body.

Find out how the pig got his head back in your Cadiz Record.
