The meeting began with Chairman Paul Fourshee and Members Sharon Butts and Howard Stovall announcing to two groups of developers that no action could be taken without a quorum. Butts attempted to contact several absent members, and soon found her efforts rewarded with the presence of Commissioners Matt Ladd at 6:15 p.m. and Kevin Alexander at 6:25. With a quorum, Fourshee called the meeting to order.
Surveyor Billy Ray Suter discussed his proposed plat for development in the King’s Point Subdivision.
“It looks like a straight forward request,” said Fourshee. “The only question is from (City/County Engineer Frank Williams.) There are no violations, but he thought that a 6.5 percent grade on this cul-de-sac could be a bit steep.”
Suter said that the developers he represented had reduced the grade from 10 to 12 percent, but could reduce the incline with further excavation. “We could put down a little more fill at the end, if we need to.”
The commission approved the plat without dissent.
