Carl Smith Cameron, 89, Palm City, Florida. formerly of Trigg County, died Sunday June 17, 2007, at his home of natural causes.

Services were held at 11 am on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Dr. J. Brooks Major officiating, Burial was at Riverside Cemetery. Music was provided by the funeral home.

A native of Trigg County, he was born December 6, 1917, son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Vadie Stewart Cameron.

He had owned and operated the Cameron Garage in Trigg County. He had been a Foreman in the cattle farming industry and a Dairy Manager in Florida.

He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Port Salerno Baptist Church in Port Salerno, FL.

His wife, Polly Cameron, preceded him in death.

His brother, Junior Cameron and sisters, Evelyn Cameron Moorefield and Marie Cameron Moorefield preceded him in death.

Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Edd (Elsie) Orten, Cadiz, Dorothy Meacham, Hopkinsville, Mrs. Doug (Pauline) Meacham, Indianapolis, IN, Mildred McCain, Pembroke, Mrs. Johnny Mack (Hazel) Stewart. Cerulean; seven nieces and six nephews.

A step-son Phil Maddux, Palm City, FL; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Allen Orten, Dale Meacham, Charles Thomas Moorefield, Howard Majors, Art Hughart, and David Boyd.
