Blanton said, “This is a tribute to the history of African Americans, and it is not just for one group but for everyone to join.”
Rawlins added, “We need to learn about the history of the nation, because we cannot separate the history of one group from the country.”
In a schedule of events, Lake Barkley State Park plans to host a gospel music presentation, oral history discussion, dramatic interpretation, golf tournament, quilt history, games, African dance class, picnic lunch, and a tour of Cherokee Park at Kenlake State Resort Park.
