Revs. Norman Cotton and Monty Flanigan officiated at the services. Burial followed at the Caldwell Blue Springs Cemetery, Princeton.
Mr. Oliver died on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 2:08 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital, in Paducah of natural causes.
Mr. Oliver was born on November 22, 1935, in Lyon Co. He was the son of the late Ed and Nola Merrick Oliver.
Mr. Oliver was a retired logger. He was a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church, where he had served as song leader, Deacon for 35 years and Sunday School Director 15 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Christine Oliver, Cadiz, one son and daughter-in-law; Deano and Pam Oliver, Herndon, one daughter, Tina Oliver, Prospect, KY, one sister, Dorothy Coleman, Princeton, two grandchildren, Chelsea Oliver, Prospect, KY, Carly Oliver, Herndon, mother-in-law, Anna Lee Oliver, Cadiz and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving, as pallbearers were Anthony Tyler, Thumper Gray, Lennis Thompson, Baccus Oliver, Garrett Thompson, Jonathan Oliver, Joey Cotton, and Norris Tyler, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Compton, T.O.
