Funeral services for Betty Wallace Cassity, 77, of Mayfield, were conducted on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Byrn Chapel. Byrn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Revs. Kent Youngblood and Ryan Youngblood officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Hemetite Cemetery.

Mrs. Cassity died on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at 4:30 a.m. at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

Mrs. Cassity was the daughter of the late Calvert and Carrie Lee (Lane) Wallace.

Mrs. Cassity was a graduate of Trigg County High School in 1947; she received her Masters Degree from Murray State University. She was a teacher for 49 years in the Trigg and Calloway County Public School Systems. She was a member of the first United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, HuAnn Sharp and Rebecca Wallace, and one nephew Stan Henson.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Cassity, Mayfield, one daughter, Norita (Kent) Youngblood, Mayfield, one brother, Calvert Campbell Wallace, Nashville, TN, one grandson, Ryan Youngblood, Mayfield, one granddaughter, Laura Youngblood, Mayfield, and one nephew, Harry Wallace, Baltimore, MD.
