Jesse Thomas said he has been a lover of vintage cars for years, which inspired him to organize a series of monthly “Cruze-Ins” in the downtown area this summer. He said he passed out flyers not just downtown but also in Dawson Springs, Hopkinsville and Paducah. He said the events have gotten a fairly good response, also drawing from places like Benton and Clarksville.
For the first time this Friday, a swap meet will be held in the Farmer’s Market parking lot.
Thomas said that many car collectors and those who build and work on old cars often end up with extra parts. Those who are interested will have the opportunity to set up tables in the lot so they can look around at what others have to offer. Thomas said swap meets are quite popular at big car shows. Anyone interested in finding steering wheels, speed gauges, fuel gauges and Baby Moon hubcaps will probably walk away with a find or two.
