Funeral services for Norris “Knot” Tyler, 70, of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, August 10, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church.

Revs. Jimmy Fuller, James Chipman, and Lloyd Tucker, officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery, in Caldwell Co.

Mr. Tyler died on Monday, August 6, 2007, at 5:38 p.m. at his residence in Cadiz, of natural causes.

Mr. Tyler was born on Wednesday, January 27, 1937 in Caldwell Co. He was the son of the late Virgil Willoughby Tyler and Susie Edward (Oliver) Monday.

Mr. Tyler was a retired logger and farmer. He was a member of the Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Frankie Tyler, and one Sister, Lucille Drennan.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mamie (King) Tyler of Cadiz, son and daughter in law, Norris E. and Beth Tyler, Jr. of Cadiz. Daughters, and sons in law, Regina and Jimmy Hampton, of Cadiz, Angela and Kevin Boggess, of Cadiz, four brothers, Jimmy Tyler, Cadiz, Edward Tyler, of Wedowa, AL, Ralph Hayden Tyler, , Kenny Tyler, of Island, KY, three sisters, Kathy Vargo, of Cadiz, Rita Wyngarden, of Carmel, CA, Dianne Beuhler, of Cadiz, four grand children Brad Hampton, Brittany Hampton, Brian Overby and Brianna Boggess, one great grandchild Cheyenne Leigh Hampton, and a special friend Garnett Bush.

Serving, as pallbearers were Brad Hampton, Brian Overby, Deano Oliver, Dennis Reddick, Danny Reddick, and Anthony Tyler.

Honorary pallbearers were John Finley, Joe Knight, Ricky Hamilton, Sr., Terry King, John Shelton, James Mathis, Stan Brimmer, Ricky Ladd, Joe Stewart, Edward Kennedy, Richard Bush, Jimmy Mathis, Donnie Jones, Bill Roberts, Sonny Finley, John Kennedy, George Smith, Waymon Vinson, Art Wells, Larry Kemp and Charles Litchfield.

Angela Boggess and Charlie Cotton, Vocalist, Clay King, Pianist and Vocalist provided the music.
