Every entry had picked Georgia to prevail in the game, which was won by South Carolina by a score of 16-12. The game was telecast on ESPN.
Another disappointment to contest entrants was the game between Auburn and South Florida. That game, telecast over ESPN2 went into overtime before South Florida prevailed by a score of 26-23.
Georgia and Auburn had been the selection among all the entrants.
Another game causing problems was a matchup between Trigg County and Logan County . . . which never took place. The ‘Cats prevailed in their matchup with Hopkins County by a score of 27-25 with a last second field goal, but the contestants were listed incorrectly. Because of the error the game was tossed out of all entries.
Anthony Platukas was the lucky winner of the $25 first prize after he won a tiebreaker listing 36 points as the highest to be scored by a winning team.
Kentucky had scored 56 points in their win over Kent State.
Along with the $25 weekly prize, Platukas is now eligible for the final season prize of $300. Each weekly winner will have their name placed in a drawing for the $300.
