In the August 22 edition of The Cadiz Record, the weekly Cadiz Police Case File list noted a case against Rose Bingham for disorderly conduct.

Bingham notified The Cadiz Record to say that she was not charged by the police with the listed offense, or any other crime. A check at the Trigg County Circuit Clerk’s office confirmed she faces no charges.

According to Bingham, she went to the scene of an August 18 accident involving her mother where she got “a bit excited.” When seeing the damaged car, she said she repeated, “Damn, damn.”

She said that the officer at the scene told her, “If you don’t calm down you are going to jail.” Bingham said that she demanded to know why she would be arrested. At the time, she said that Officer Scott Brown asked her niece Brittany Williams about her identity, but did not request Bingham’s name or license.
