The Trigg County Wildcats have yet to score the first touch down of their games this season, but also have yet to lose; Friday night was no different for the ‘Cats as they beat Murray 49-6.

Murray brought the ball to the 2-yard line, followed by the first touchdown of the game, and the only one for the Tigers. Murray tried for the extra-point but it was a little too far wide to make it through the up-rights. “I was a little nervous about how the game was going to turn out,” commented Timmy McGee.

The next series of plays were much like the rest of the game. A punt return by Antonio Bridges took the ball to the 47-yard line. Scotty Mayes ran for a first down, Brandon Bridges ran the ball to the 9 yard line, and Mayes finished it into the end-zone, with a good PAT, and a kick off that rolled out of the end-zone.

The punt following the three incomplete passes was returned to the 50 yard line, and another series of plays led to a touch down by Mayes. Leaving the scoreboard at Trigg 14, Murray-6 with 4:56 left in the quarter.

The kickoff was returned only one yard before Devin Stewart got receiver at the 15-yard line, and Dillon Cionko recovered a fumble on the very next play. “The defense played great,” commented Will Stagner, “ Devin Stewart and Donald Bush were great on both sides of the ball tonight.”
