Each year at the Ham Festival, the Trigg County Historical Society sells ornaments of a historical building. This year’s will be of the recently demolished courthouse that has replaced by mounds dirt in its downtown location. Member Barbara Shore said that there are still 75 of their 2002 ornament of the old courthouse, which was finished in 1895 and burned down in 1920. She said they would continue selling them at this year’s festival as well.
There are 250 ornaments of the last courthouse, which was built in 1922, available. Shore said that both ornaments would sell for $15. They will be sold at the festival and will also be available at Miss Malva’s Antiques and Eldora’s Books, Etc.
The Historical Society will also soon be selling bricks from the demolished courthouse. Shore said that member Howard Stovall would likely get in touch with a company that attach commemorative metal nameplates to the bricks. Shore said they might be available by Christmas.
